As you may know, just after the release of Patch 13.20, a 13.20b update emerged. This adjustment was a necessity as the multi-carry Mage compositions were proving to be excessively dominant. This impacted various aspects, including traits, Galio’s radiant items, and the power of Twisted Fate (TF), which have all been toned down.
Let’s explore the top comps in this version with the LTBoost team to help you climb the ranks more effectively.
1. Bruiser Cho’Gath
Cho’Gath remains a viable pick, but you must transition him out earlier, as spamming him like before is no longer effective. Cho’Gath will serve as the primary carry in the top lane and take on the responsibility of soaking up damage with his massive health pool.
The gameplay is quite straightforward. You simply need to pair him with frontline bruisers early in the game (4-cost units) and aim for a level 6 comp by late game. More health means Cho’Gath’s ultimate ability hits even harder. For your backline carry in the late game, you’ll need a long-range damage-dealer. You can flex with champions like Malzahar, Cassiopeia, Kayle, Azir, or Silco. If the elemental map is Wood, you can further boost Cho’Gath’s health.
In the late game, you have two options: either reroll for a 3-star Rek’Sai or add 5-cost champions like Heimerdinger, Gangplank, Ryze, and more.

2. 6 Void Vel’koz
With the important change making the Kha’Zix trait activation faster and re-targeting a new enemy if the initial target is killed while Kai’Sa is in her ultimate, champions like Malzahar and Rek’Sai have gained power.
Playing this composition is quite simple. If you already have many Malzahars and Cho’Gaths, you can roll for them at level 5 to obtain a 3-star Malzahar and Cho’Gath. Otherwise, level up to 6 and utilize 6 Void to maintain your health. Then, level up to 7 and search for Taliyah. Taliyah not only activates the Kha’Zix trait but also provides innate damage. If you have a Chosen of the Same Trait, assign the Void emblem to Taliyah and roll for 3-star units at level 6.
Keep in mind that playing 6 Void and rerolling for 3-star units is more effective than playing 8 Void. Managing your health is crucial, and consider leveling up as needed to optimize your composition.

3. Invoker Karma
With buffs to the 6 Invoker trait and Karma in levels 1, 2, and 3-star, combined with nerfs to other strong compositions, Karma’s impact has significantly improved in the current meta.
Early game, focus on maintaining your health with 1 and 2-cost Invokers like Milio, Cassiopeia, Galio, and others. Milio’s mana cost has been reduced from 20/80 to 20/70, making him a more efficient early-game sustainer. This composition is relatively less popular currently, which gives you a good chance to easily obtain a 3-star Karma.
The composition is quite straightforward, consisting of 6 Invokers: Milio, Cassiopeia, Galio, Soraka, Karma, Shen, and adding Taric for Bastion and Targon activation. If you acquire Ryze, replace Cassiopeia with Ryze.
In terms of the deployment, reroll at level 3.2 to create a strong health-sustaining board, including Milio, Cassiopeia, Soraka, Karma, Taric, Neeko. If you get Shen early, you can substitute Shen for Neeko and then level up to 7 to activate 6 Invokers and slow-roll for a 3-star Karma. If you have good gold reserves, reroll for Taric and Galio 3-star. At level 8, add Ahri to activate Ionia and Sorcerer. If Ahri is unavailable, consider adding Aphelios or adapting to your situation with other physical damage dealers.

4. Shurima Azir
With buffs to Shurima at levels 4/6/9 in patch 13.20, along with slight Azir buffs in patch 13.20B, it’s advisable to play the 6 Shurima composition, as the level 4 version received fewer buffs. If you want to play the 4-cost Shurima-Strategist version, you’ll need a 3-star Miss Fortune to supplement the damage. Azir has a larger selection of items in patch 13.20, allowing you to build more early-game items to sustain your health and aim for a level 9 power spike while adding 5-cost champions like K’sante, Heimerdinger, Ryze, Sion to secure the top spot.
Playing this composition requires careful health management in the early game or a well-executed loss streak to maximize your gold income due to its reliance on multiple 4-cost champions.

5. Nilah Freljord
Despite a slight damage nerf to Nilah, it doesn’t significantly impact this composition, as Nilah’s physical damage is complemented by a substantial amount of magic damage from Miss Fortune.
If you can obtain a 3-star Miss Fortune, have her as your primary damage-dealer. If not, level up and look for Gangplank to replace Miss Fortune. Gangplank’s items can be used to protect Miss Fortune in the early game. As for frontline tank options, you can be flexible, choosing between Javan, Nasus, Nautilus, or replacing Nautilus with Aatrox if you acquire him.
This composition utilizes several 4 and 5-cost champions, so focus on careful health management and economic management to reroll for upgrades. The combination of high-value champions and gold advantage will put you in a favorable position for a top finish.

*In addition to the above compositions, there are other strong compositions that have a good chance of reaching the top:
7 Noxus Mordekaiser
4 Multicaster Reroll is still strong, although not as dominant as before. If you’re not facing many other players using the same comp, it’s a viable choice for climbing the ranks.
